Das Din

Alicia Souza has been referred to as a 'happiness illustrator' for the snippets of happy incidents, funny conversations or daily life musings she draws. She's added it to her designation ever since as 'commercial illustrator' sounded rather dodgy! She's been drawing professionally for just under a decade and has hundreds of products manufactured from her drawings through the studio she runs. Alicia was born and brought up in the Middle East and currently works and lives in Bengaluru with her husband, dog, guinea pig and lots of pencils.

Pridhee Kapoor Gupta writes books for young readers in Indian languages. In her journey of parenthood predominantly outside of India, she quickly realised that there were not enough books in Indian languages that she could easily read to her toddler (but funnily there were enough in English!). So, she set about correcting this imbalance through her books. Pridhee was born and brought up in the Middle East and is a trained molecular biologist with a PhD from Germany. Pridhee has an undergraduate and masters degree from IIT-Delhi, and has worked as an educator at Macquarie University, Australia and international schools.

• ‘....This book wraps counting numbers from 1 to 10 around a story of a lion prince's recovery from a fever. It has both Hindi in Devanagari (देवनागरी ) script and transliteration in Roman script. Unfortunately, it does not have an English translation. The boardbook is quite durable with beautiful, bright illustrations. The book is written in a poetic verse so there are some small grammar errors, but it keeps the kids engaged through the interactive elements.’- Amazon user
