About AdiDev Press
AdiDev Press is an independent publishing company born out of a passion for children's picture books and a deep love of Indian culture. From stories of pioneering Indian scientists and sportswomen to books on Indian saints and beloved prayers and narratives celebrating festivals and family bonds, we champion stories that young readers can enjoy and be inspired by.
Our core mission is to introduce young readers to the rich cultural diversity of South Asian folklore, history and traditions through books that feature exemplary story-telling, beautiful art and accessible writing.
Alongside shining a light on Indian stories, we believe in supporting Indian writers and illustrators, including first-timers who believe in our mission and purpose.
We also collaborate with international authors to introduce global stories to Indian readers through thoughtfully produced bilingual editions in regional Indian languages and English, creating meaningful cross-cultural dialogue through books.
Our books reflect our commitment to making mother tongue learning and bilingual language skills easy to acquire for a new generation. Through verse stories that are humorous and introduce new vocabulary and translations of popular prayers, our bilingual books are designed to make learning a new language fun and interesting, with word meanings and the English text on every page helping to build connections.
We also aim to highlight Indian cultural practices, explaining their significance and showing young readers how they help to connect families across generations. Our stories help young readers appreciate culture as an intrinsic part of what makes us who we are.
Quality of production is central to our mission. From carefully edited manuscripts and distinctive illustration to paper selection, printing, binding, and format, every detail is considered with care. Whether board books for the youngest readers or hardcovers for older children, our titles are designed to be durable, visually compelling, and worthy of being treasured.
