About the illustrator
Having grown up in various cities across India, Tanya developed a fondness for the fascinating visual diversity of the country. She is a communication design graduate from NIFT, Kangra and the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York. She is currently Art Director at an advertising agency, but dabbles in illustration as a creative outlet.

Ashwitha Jayakumar loves writing and reading about history, war, food and culture. She is the author of over a dozen books for readers of all ages, including The Book of Emperors: An Illustrated History of the Mughals (Penguin Random House) and Incredible Indians: 75 People Who Shaped Modern India (HarperCollins India). She is also the co-founder of Indian Summer Press, a brand new independent publisher of comics, and holds an MSc in Literature and Society: 1688–1900 from the University of Edinburgh and an MA in Medieval Studies from the University of Leeds.
