Blue is Radha’s saree,

Green, the peacock feather,
that adorns Krishna’s hair.

Orange
Orange, Krishna’s kadamba tree,
wide and shady stands.
Orange is Radha’s mehendi,
that colours her strong hands.

Kali kesariya kadamb ki,
bahut Krishan ko bhati hai.
Radha ke hathon ki mehendi,
kesar si mehkate hain.
Pink
Pink is Krishna’s garland,
as pink as Radha’s cheeks.
Pink, the fluttering butterflies,
on Govardhan’s peak.

Gulabi mala Krishan ki,
jaise Radha ke donon gaal.
Gulabi titliyan mandratin,
Govardhan par karein dhamaal.
White
White, the butter gopis churn,
which Krishna loves to steal.
White, the cows and their milk,
which Krishna drinks with zeal.

सफ़ेद मक्खन गोपी मथें,
कृष्ण जिसे चुराते हैं।
सफ़ेद गाएँ दें दूध जिसे,

Translation
Saphed makkhan gopi mathein,
Krishan jise churate hain.
Saphed gaayen de dhoodh jise,
Krishan gut-gut pi jate hai.
Gold
Gold is Radha’s necklace,
and Krishna’s dazzling crown.
Gold, her jingling ankle-bells,
we love to hear that sound!

स्वर्णिम राधा की माला है,

राधा की पायल की रुण-झुन,

Translation
Swarnim Radha ki mala hai,
mukut Krishan ka bhi swarnim.
Radha ki payal ki run-jhun,
karti mere mann ko swarnim.
Silver
Silver shines the moonlight,
on Radha-Krishna’s dance.
Silver, the fluttering fireflies,
who in the dark night prance!

चंदा चाँदी सा चमके।
जुगनू चाँदी से जगमग,
रात में तारों से दमकें।।
Translation
Radha-Krishan ke raas par,
chanda chandi sa chamke.
Jugnu chandi se jagmag,
raat me taaron se damkein.
Black
Black is Radha’s kaajal,
just like Krishna’s locks.
Black, the night we go to sleep,
when it’s past eight o’clock.

राधा का काजल काला है,

आओ सोएँ हम सब ओढ़े,
