Recently, we had the privilege of witnessing an extraordinary event at HimJyoti School—Voices of Words. The day was dedicated to storytelling, where students from three prestigious schools—St. Kabeer Academy, Mondrian High School, and Mountfort Academy—joined in for a lively celebration of literature.
The event revolved around performances inspired by Pagdi and other shortlisted books. Each student brought their unique perspective and passion to the stage, delivering captivating performances that made the stories come alive. Whether through engaging skits, interactive crosswords, or heartfelt recitations, every performance was infused with enthusiasm and creativity, showcasing the students’ deep connection to the stories.
One of the most inspiring aspects of the day was witnessing how these young minds interpreted the tales in their own ways. From humor to poignant moments, each performance had a distinct flavor, highlighting the diversity of thought and imagination that literature fosters in children.
The Voices of Words event reminded us of the importance of cultural education and how storytelling can inspire, educate, and entertain. It wasn’t just about reading—it was about bringing words to life, celebrating creativity, and cultivating a lifelong love for books in young readers.
The event was a joyful reminder of why we do what we do—encouraging the younger generation to not just read, but also to actively engage with and explore the worlds that books can create. These performances embodied the essence of storytelling, and it was an absolute joy to witness the power of stories in action.
If you missed the event, don’t worry! You can still catch the highlights and see these incredible young readers in action. Watch how they made the stories of Pagdi and others leap off the page and onto the stage.
Don’t forget to tag your child’s school if you enjoyed the performances and want to see more!
